CANCER: HEALING SOUND EXERCISES
The following exercises can induce a state of healing. You can do them at any time and they are also totally free!
Voice Release Exercise
Some people find it difficult to release their voice and give freedom to their vocalizations. Many individuals feel suppressed in some way, either due to inhibitions, hurts or past experiences.
Lying on your back, fold and curl your body into a tight compact knot of arms and legs. Curl yourself into the smallest ball possible. Catch your breathing and vocalizing organs at the centre of the mass. Breathe in and out and make the space you are occupying even smaller. Hold the position for a moment and then breathe in. On the out breath, stretch out, quickly and vigorously. Release some of your voice with a powerful ‘ugh’, using the deepest sound you can find far within your soul. Enjoy the stretch. Rest for a moment. Repeat the exercise up to 10 times. Each time, reach deeper within and project your voice more strongly and further.
You can either do this by yourself or with someone you love and adore. Listen for the silence! Find a place under some trees, by a river, a mountainside or in a tranquil garden. If you are unable to physically go to one of these peaceful places, enter your own inner landscape, the magical garden planted and cherished by your own creative imagination.
Listen! Listen to the sky, the earth, the water, the rocks, the plants and the animals. Listen to their unique and gentle sounds; let them sing from their hearts into yours. Hear the crackling of grass, the chirping of birds, the rustling of leaves and the trickling of water over moss-covered rocks. You can stay in this place for a few minutes, a few hours or even a day. Try to remember these sounds in your mind. Just listen.
You can return to your normal world whenever your heart answers the call. Learning to remember the sounds of nature during demanding times can place the body in a peaceful and meditative state.
