March 24th, 2009

New research suggests that vitamin C may help reduce the risk of disease, thereby leading to a longer life. The recent findings indicate that mc women who get high levels of vitamin C every day may live longer, more yi lives.

A decade-long study involving over 11,000 adults revealed that wome had the highest level of vitamin C intake experienced a 10 percent lower i death rate and a 25 percent lower heart disease death rate than women ta lower amount of vitamin C. Men in the high vitamin C group (intake average milligrams per day—50 or more milligrams from food, and a regular int< supplements) experienced a 41 percent lower death rate during that ten year f pain. There may also be some bleeding below the flaps of the skin that were lifted and tightened. The area should be drained or washed out thoroughly in the operating room to cut down on the risk of infection.

3) Eye-lift— this procedure has become a very popular anti-aging technique as it removes deposits of fat and excess skin to give the eye area a more youthful appearance. Two separate operations are required for the upper and lower eyelids.

While the surgery allows a patient to return to normal activities after a couple of days, it may also leave behind some fat. If that occurs, a second operation is required. There is also the risk of the surgeon removing too much skin. Eye-lifts are usually priced from $1,500 to $5,000.

4) Abdominal Wall Reduction (Abdominoplasty or Tummy Tuck)— this is a contouring operation in which excess skin and fat are removed from the abdomen. The most common abdominal wall procedure is performed using a general anesthesia and may require a hospital stay of two to three days. The surgeon makes a horizontal incision along the bikini line and another around the navel. The skin is then pulled away from the abdominal wall and raised above the rib cage. The loose tissue which covers the abdomen’s large vertical muscle is then pulled toward the center of the abdomen, where the surgeon sutures it together, tightening the muscles and providing a firmer abdominal wall and a more youthful looking narrow waistline. The flap of skin is then pulled downand the excess is removed.

Following this procedure, most people experience some soreness and discomfort. Scars caused by the surgery are permanent, however they usually lighten within three to six months. A tummy tuck costs, on the average, from $1,100 to $8,500.
