In fact taking care of the face is simple and does not demand that each of us visits a salon. All it requires is correct cleansing and moisturizing cream. Healthy diet, early nights, minimum alcohol and no tobacco or drugs also help improve the condition of the face. There is many a Hollywood luminary who neither smokes nor drinks and lives exclusively on health food produce purely so that the face remains intact.
Cleansing the face is a three-stage procedure.
The first step requires soap and water. With a good quality mild soap wash the face twice a day, morning and night.
For the second step, cleanse the face with an astringent lotion dabbed on a cottonball. Once a day, preferably in the evening, is sufficient. This is especially important on the greasy regions of the face like the forehead, the temples, the sides of the nose and behind the ears where grime caused by sweat forms. To see how much your face needs this kind of cleansing, try dabbing cologne or aftershave on to a cottonball and during the late evening cleanse your face with it. Examine the cottonball. It will be grease-covered. An astringent lotion specially designed for this task will be doubly effective and half as costly.
